More features ≠ more users

Early on, I thought growth was simple: ship more features. Every new thing felt like a new reason for someone to sign up.

I was wrong.

More features didn't bring more users. If anything, they did the opposite - they confused the users I already had. Every new button, setting, and screen made the product harder to understand, and easier to quit.

More features don't grow your SaaS. Focus does.

My philosophy got simpler

1. Find the one thing your product does best. It's usually the feature that fixes a real, painful problem - the reason people came to you in the first place. The rest is noise.

2. Improve it. Improve it. Improve it. Make that one thing faster, clearer, and better than anyone else's. Deep beats wide.

That's it.

The hard part isn't building. It's having the discipline to not build - to say no to the roadmap and keep making the thing that already works even better.

Your users don't want more. They want the thing they came for, done really well.
